M Salas

Marilyn C. Salas received her BA and MEd from the University of Guam (UOG) and obtained her PhD in Reading from the University of Arizona. Salas is a retired associate professor of the University of Guam Richard F. Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) and served as the director of the Center for Chamorro Language and Culture at the university. She taught culture and education courses for the School of Education, was the chairperson of the Advisory Board for the Department of Chamorro Affairs, provides education assistance to the Micronesian Region, and is also a board member of the Guam Preservation Trust.

Salas authored the Chamorro Word Book and co-authored, with Clarissa Quan and Dan McCauley, Lepblo Para Tane’ Famagu’on I Isla:  A Chamorro / English Interactive Book for Island Children .
