Michael R. Clement earned a B.A. in history from the University of Hawai`i in 1998 and an M.A. in Micronesian studies from the University of Guam in 2002.
Clement teaches World History at the University of Guam and is a Ph.D. candidate in Pacific history at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. He is conducting research for a dissertation that examines the evolution of Chamorro culture in post-World War II Guam.
In 2002, Clement was named Scholar of the Year by the Guam Humanities Council for his University of Guam M.A. thesis, The Sella Bay Ammunition Wharf Controversy. He has taught at Southern High School and Jose Rios Middle School, Guam.
Clement, a 1994 graduate of Guam’s Oceanview High School, is married to Francine Martinez Clement of Barrigada and they have two daughters, Isabella and Mariana Rose.
